What is Stripe and what is it for?

Stripe is a service that lets you accept credit card payments on your website. It processes billions every year and supports the most innovative business models worldwide. It operates in many countries and accepts payments from anywhere in the world.

You can check Stripe’s fees here: https://stripe.com/pricing. Arcadina is not involved in these payments at any point and charges no commission: the payment goes directly between you and your client.

How do I set up Stripe in Arcadina?

You need a Stripe account. If you don’t have one, create it.

With your Stripe account, you need to get your API keys. This Stripe article explains how: https://docs.stripe.com/keys

Now create the payment method in your website’s control panel.

1. In your control panel go to Sales / Payment methods.

2. Click New payment method, or edit the Stripe method if it already exists.

3. In Payment method choose Stripe.

4. Fill in the Description text: this is the name your clients will see for this payment method at checkout. Also choose which sales it can be used for.

5. Enter the four keys, two public and two private, for the LIVE and TEST environments, and choose the Environment: LIVE is the real mode and TEST is for trying things out. Then click Next.

6. Finally, in the Expenses step, set any fees for using this payment method and click Finish.
